Pls wait for me til tomorrow night, mine gets a lot of artifacts and sometimes it even restarts on its own. 15 R3, 6820/1070 Micron.
btw, pls recommend me a good software to record the screen.

@purple.haze do you have BSOD ?
If yes, please send me too your minidump files of those bsod. You'll find it on : C:\Windows\Minidump
Otherwise, you may use nvidia shadow play or windows dvr (through xbox app) to record your screen
In order to make it easier for all of us, i'll create a drive folder where we'll be able to add all what we want.
So i'll send the mail now like i said tuesday morning to the guy, but i can add whatever we want nextLast edited: Feb 14, 2017 -

********Drive Folder Link for DELL*************
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B7DhUEwSGH6NLU5XUkdIb3UxYm8?usp=sharing
Through this drive, we can bring prooves to Dell in order to hope to have a new vbios for Micron memory.
I'll add on this folder, all the proofs that you'll bring me. I'm counting on you

 Thank you for you replied.
Mine doesnt get a BSOD, it just gets stuck with a black screen and I have to manually restart it o it may restarts on its own.
BTW, I have read somewhere else that undervolting the GPU may help a litte bit.
Do you know if its it true? -

I believe the main reasons for GPU crashes are related to too much voltage, too little voltage and heat. I'm not saying it won't work, but I don't see why it would work.
Some will say "lower voltage can make it more stable as well". But I think the odds of that is much lower than anything else. The reason higher stock voltages are chosen are for stability.
With that said, it only takes like 5-10 min to change the voltage on these. Normally it would take seconds but the way Pascal works has made it a pain in the..purple.haze likes this. -

Reducing voltage leads to less power used. And reduce Power limit throttling.
But reduce it too much and the GPU will be unstable.
If the issue is stability you shouldn't undervolt but underclock instead.
Micron memory's specific issue is linked to voltage timing. Simply put: The extra voltage needed when the memory is under load comes too late.
Samsung/Hynix memory can wistand the load during the short time without extra voltage, but Micron memory can't.purple.haze, hmscott, NicolasLoriot and 1 other person like this. -

Hey Guys,
The new vbios is finally here

I had the luck to test it, and timing voltage problem is now solved, so we're able to oc memory until +500/550mhz now
without bsods... (i'm talking only for micron memory for sure)

And globally, for the same clock speed and games/benchs, the gpu is consuming a bit less, which is a good point looking at temps which are a bit lower too !
I think that it will be available soon, but i have no date yet.hmscott, leeloyd, lsramair and 1 other person like this. -

 Is the powerlimit also increased?
 -

Why are you winking 2x? Is this a joke or you have some details?
Thanks! -

i don't think so, for the 1070 in the 15r3, 135W is already largely enough i think...
With such a power, temps raise until 90°C which is very hot
(the heatsink is pretty good and had been repasted with kryonaut) -

For what's about benchmarks/games, i can't tell you how much it improves.
In fact, all the test i did with old vbios was with 1.0.9, and i'm actually running the 1.0.12 which is incredibly bad and lowers performances. -

Thanks! Yes I see your Vbios is different than mine is (86.04.54.00.1C)
Lets do it. -
Did Dell send you the vBios for testing?
 -
I did a full report of the problem problem 2 weeks ago, with mini dumps, photos... like nothing was moving...
And yes finally yesterday i received a version which works pretty good. -

You have me waiting... with baited breath.
Hope we get to try soon as well. -

Well done, thank you buddy. Your efforts weren't for nothing

 Ok thanks
Could you maybe please ask if you are allowed to share the vbios with other people?
      -

@leeloyd Thank you
But we shouldn't had to do this to have a vbios working correctly ^^

@Vassilis008 I'll ask, but I don't think that this is a problem. Just if ever you brick your GPU, I'm not sure if the warranty will work... Anyway it will be realese soon normally...leeloyd likes this. -

Nowaday consumers are both beta testers and Quality Controlers.
I don't remind having backed any kickstarter for the AlienWare Cassini. But it looks very like, with all this revisions in such a short period of time... What a shame ...Vasudev likes this. -
True but I am sure that several persons will be happy to try it out still

You'll find all what you need there : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7DhUEwSGH6NR1huYzhzUEJWalE
instructions are in the doc file
Both Me or Dell aren't responsible for anything that could happen on your laptop in anyway, like this is not an official version of the vbios -

You are awesome.
Im waiting for someone else with more cajones to go for it first. Im on a 7820hk, so wonder if its specific to other factors. -

There are 3 .exe :
- 15_1070d
 - 15_1070g
 - 15_1070h

d maybe for discreet ???
h ????
I successfully dumped my VBios using NVFlash 5.287 from http://www.overclock.net/t/1521334/...ypassed-for-gtx-950-960-970-980-980ti-titan-x
I'll try the d one. - 15_1070d
 -

yes, i don't know either.
It would be logical yes, but why is there an h one then ? -

Nope. I had a message with the 3 of them saying "Access Denied" in the command line prompt and "This application isn't compatible with your PC" in an alert box
      -

are you sure you were running command prompt with admin rights ?

Nevermind, I didn't enter password for the zip archive and had 0kb files Xd ...
Second try after checking your firmware version ...
Edit : Ok worked like a charm ! Now i upgraded my GTX 1070 from Vbios 86.04.39.00.36 to 86.04.54.00.1C.
IGP switch is working ... And my VRAM reached +300MHz and passed Unigine Heaven session without any issue. Nice
 !

Looks like i'm good for more testing now ...Last edited: Mar 10, 2017NicolasLoriot likes this. -

Which bios are you running ? I can't test anything with this f****** 1.0.12...
And when i see all those who bricks their laptop, i don't want to have the same issus downgrading.... -

I'm not sure which vbios I should flash either between d/g/h so I guess I'm just going to wait until we know more about those three. Hopefully it's possible to swap between the three versions easily.
 -

Following what @leeloyd said, i Think that d version is ok for non gsyncs laptop...
 -

 Bios 1.0.8 ... I flashed 15_1070d
My 15R3 has I7-6820HK, GTX 1070 and IPS FHD Screen with Optimus.
I got huge artefact with Unigine Heaven when reaching +350MHz. Reverted back to +326MHz

Edit : No good, old OC of +230 Core +275 VRam isn't stable anymore with FireStrike and Time Spy
 ...
     Last edited: Mar 10, 2017 -
Did you try to disable optimus?
 -

I had optimus disabled (switched to DGPU with Fn+F7)
I tried the other Vbios: 15_1070g and 15_1070h, and they both rejected my GPU id, so i was right D is for Discreet GPU with Optimus and G for G-sync screen ... H ? Kabylake specific ? -

+350mhz it's low...
It's exactly the limit i had before this new vbios. Now i reach + 500mhz without problem.
But for my gpu, +230mhz core is a bit to high. I need to down it to +225mhz
How much time did you restart your laptop ?
I had to restart it 3 / 4 times to make it works properly.
Otherwise i had some errors -
When you say +500 that's in afterburner right? meaning 9000Mhz
 -

sure, it''s in afterburner.
The correct value is (display in gpu-z) : 2252mhz memory -

I restarted it only once ... But maybe like with the 1080's Vbios update there are Bios/Vbios combos that work better than the others.
I'm falling asleep now ...better take a nap.
 To be continued ...
      -

Hey.
Guess what, I thought my Memory was from Micron, but actually it is from Samsung!
Im still getting a lot of artifacts when playing, but with a little underclock on memory with Afterburner sometimes i kick it away...
Do you know if i can flash this Vbios on my rig?
 -

Robbo99999 Notebook Prophet
This is a thread for people with GTX 1070 Micron VRAM, you have Samsung, so you have nothing to gain by flashing these vBIOS - these vBIOS are just to solve a quirk with the voltage on Micron VRAM not increasing quickly enough when the VRAM kicks up to it's gaming Mhz.Vasudev likes this. -

I managed to go as far as +230 Core +450 Mem with 3DMark FireStrike... but i had to reboot a few times.
OC isn't really stable with this VBios, even if you can OC more (was stuck @ +275 Mem before) -
Even with the old vbios, I was able to overclock higher with 1.0.9 compared to 1.0.8. Did you try 1.0.12 to see if it helps?
 -

Seeing all the complains about 1.0.9 and 1.0.12 i prefer staying with 1.0.8
 -

Don't use the 1.0.12 !!
I really don't know how they are able to realese such a bios... It's a pure shame !!
But 1.0.9 was all good for me -

What did they do in 1.0.12?
 -

- Drop of graphics performances. I loose 250 firestike points...
- Bad fan RPM curve
- Freezes while gaming -

Sounds like some great features!
 -

I almost forget to report that the annoying short "Bip" at Boot when Discreet GPU is enabled disappeared.
 -

Anyone else try this update and have success with it?
 -

Im waiting until official
