UPDATE: Microsoft is offering the Alienware 15 for 100$ off in their online store. With the added student discount, I could get it for $1530 CAD, which us about 1276 USD. This is with 4k screen, i7, 256GB SSD, 16GB RAM and everything.... Well, I hope I can add both savings up together![]()
EDIT: Turns out you can't combine the savings :'(

Honestly, I barely even hear mine while gaming. It might be partially due to always using a cooler and being accustomed to a little fan noise. The cooler actually is more audible than the laptop..........

hahahaha you mean like this one. http://www.amazon.com/HAVIT®-HV-F2056-15-6-Laptop-Cooler/dp/B00NNMB3KS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431559904&sr=8-1&keywords=havit laptop cooler. This is the exact model I have. That's not the problem. The Alienware just doesn't have good cooling

Looks like a decent cooler, bar the lack of a bottom notch to secure a laptop from slipping (lap/bed use)

You can also get a refurb Alienware for lot lower. I paid 1229 USD for mine with 970m.
