    Alienware 17 R2 Touchscreen in the R3?

    Does anyone know if the Alienware 17 R2 touchscreen is compatible with the R3 granted the correct LVDS cable is used? I recently purchased refurbished 17 R2 TS for super cheap $20 we will see if its the entire display assembly minus the actual LCD. From the picture and Dell P/N 97VYF it looked to be the entire TS assembly. The part is identified as "97VYF Dell Alienware 17 R2 TouchScreen LCD Display 17.3"

    I haven't seen anyone with that change, and we do not officially support the upgrade.

    Thanks for the reply! Well turns out the seller didnt have part "in stock" must have been a typo on the price. I'm happy with the 1080p screen on the 17 R3 far better than the 15 R2 1080p 220nit screen. I heard we will be seeing OLED screen soon in AW 13 :) any word on OLED for 15 or 17 model?

    Not at the moment. We only have info about the new AW 13 with OLED.
