Led issues on 15 r1

I just found out that one of the speaker led under the left speaker is not working. It can display Red without problems. But it doesn't work for blue. Sometimes it works if I knock the laptop a bit. Pls help. Also the status light for the battery is flickering.

 

Sounds like a loose connection or something failing.
Got warranty left?

 

Warranty last until august. But i am away from us in myanmar. There is no alienware here. My grandmother is going to us in november.

 

doenst matter if you are not at USA, you can contact Dell for in home repair.

 

There is no official dell number in Myanmar that i can call. There are only authorised distributors that have never even seen or heard of alienware.

 

One other thing, i just got this laptop last august. I ran powercfg /batteryreport and the design capacity is 96000wh but current capacity is 69000wh. I want to know why and whether this is normal. Also windows 10 is showing me 03, 02 or 01 minutes to full charge.

 

If you used the battery a lot. LIke charge it around 150 times in a year it would be normal. If you didnt then the battery is worn out prematurely. Disable quick charging in bios though. Some users thin khere it might wear out the battery faster.

Regarding the elds. It might be possible one of the cables is not inserted correctly. I had this happen once after a repair and the ALienware logo in the screen bezel only would light up red or not at all depending on the color chosen. Reinserting the cable fixed that problem.

You mean reseating the cables? DUnno, depends your level and experience in disassembly of laptops. I can do it in 10 minutes but I have opened this laptop a lot of times so I became very experienced with these machines.

 

I contacted alienware via facebook. They said that i will jave to send in to the depot, i think i should avoid this right?

 

Also since battery health is 70% how much of a reduction in battery life am i expecting?

your capacity with 30% wear = 0,7 X 96000 = 67200mWh

 

if your battery had 6 hours of autonomy new, now is going to last 4,2 hours

 

Strangely, battery life is the same since i bought it. It was 80% last month and 100% when i first bought it.

 

I have turned off express charging now.

Yeah avoid it. Do you have the on site repair warranty? Ask for a technician to fix it on site.

 

I contacted another tech support by email. He says that there is a possibility that the bios is showing it wrong. I also have an issue where windows 10 shows me 4 minutes left to fulll charge. He also suggested me to power off the laptop, remove all cables and hold the power button, can anyone pls explain me what this does and more precisely how to do it without opening up my system. Also what advantages doe the latest bios A06 have over my factory Bios A01.

I have led problems as well.. My touchpad is not lighting anymore.. any ideas? I made a thread but no one replied.. T_T

 

I maybe overlooked it but google alienware 15 service manual pdf. There you can find which cable is for the trackpad light and then reseat the cable.
