Has anybody experienced this while watching a video over youtube or netflix? it happens randomly and its kinda noticeable but it happens for 1 second or less. Any fix out there? i saw this thread over at reddit also https://www.reddit.com/r/Alienware/comments/5n1mes/alienware_15_r3_microstutterstuttering_sometimes/ seems i am not the only one with this problem. Any solutions would be lovely! running on the 120hz panel so no optimus

yes this is only happening on gsync panels, on the win 10 netflix app and edge browser. Does netflix work normaly in Chrome ?
You have to setup a custom profile in Nvidia settings to force netflix app to chose the refresh rate and also turn off vsync.
Google Netflix and Gsync you should be able to sort it then -
im having the same problem, especially while watching Youtube or Netflix or Popcorn time. Games are fine... It is exactly like your problem, a micro stutter for about 1-2 seconds. Also had one today while opening a bunch of websites tabs at once.
And for the specs of my laptop (aw15r3 + SSD 960 evo) i shouldnt have this
Could you post here a step by step mate? i googled but couldnt find
Do you know anything about that @Vasudev ? -
Even I have it. Mine is not G-Sync display. I thought it was fixed in creators update. I think in my system setup, its likely to be optimus.
-
It's to do with the refresh rate Vasudev what panel refresh rate do you have ?
I def fixed it setting up a custom profile for netflix app in Nnvidia settings, I am at work but can post screenshots later -
My panel Refresh rate is 60 Hz. Mine is 15 r2. My panel is LG Philips [Unknown Model: LGD04B9] 156WF6 [DELL P/N: KFKV0]

does it still stutter on chrome or Firefox?
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk -
i have those micro stutter on my 15R3 sometimes for no reason, like opening a bunch os tabs in chrome/firefox, or videos in youtube, popcorn and netflix.
Vasudev likes this. -
Sometimes it occurs.
-
did you guys try to turn off g-sync to see if the stutter goes away with netflix?
-
didnt try cause dont know how to do it. could you explain
?
-
in nvidia inspector you have the g-sync tab, deselect "use g-sync"
-
in geforce experience or nvidia control panel (manage 3d settings)?
edit: i entered the nvidia control panel and couldnt find any tab with the "G-Sync" name....any tips?Last edited: Jun 20, 2017 -
do you have a g-sync panel in the first place?
-
dont think i do lol. But i though it was included as default, in geforce 1070 drivers....
Does the G-sync improves or it is worst?Mobius 1 likes this. -
someone said to disable it with the netflix app, not sure if it'll fix for surelokoroxbr likes this.
-
understood....but how about you Monius? do you recommend using G-sync?
I mean, i've downloaded the g-sync 1.10 driver from Geforce, but would like to know if this improves the computer os slows it down,as it was said here on this topic. Should i install it and use it or not? -
Did you disable Nvidia telemetry services? Disable that and try installing GSync driver and see if it fixes the issue.
I think OS still controls which gpu to use intel or nv, i think Intel SW doesn't accept override values from OS, thats why it stutters. -
I have it disabled.
