at times i feel like the older driver performs well on maxwell chips and skylake hd graphics.. yet to benchmark.. so which version of windows 10 you using ?? i stopped using vlc as its bugged on playing hevc x265, system trayy icon stays forever, and video freezes.. im using pot player and mpc be for videos..

I think the black screen issue could be due to faulty Alienware Fusion service dating back to m17x R3 era. I don't know to what extent it will help.

I have uninstalled it and tweaking the colors through alienfx-tools which is much more lightweight and can do custom fan profile including temps from DRAM, MB hotspots, VRM, CPU and GPU. Hehe.. finally after half a decade a custom fan profile adjuster w/o closed source crap. The AFX lighting is wonky and sometimes glitches out and works after turning ON/OFF AFX w/o waiting 2 mins for launching AWCC and waiting for Splash screen.
I have no alternative for Macro Manager/Key since I'm finding it difficult to find AHK to detect the Macro Scan code numbered from SC274 (Macro profile switcher) till SC279. SC-> Special Key. Wasted too many hours on MSFT Docs and was using VK aka Virtual Keys as mentioned in MSFT Docs for keyboards.

Still on the lookout through using AutoHotkey scripting. Will post an exe if custom keystrokes can be paired to Crtl-C, Ctrl-V etc...
