Are you using a Samsung Galaxy phone? It is because of the phone. I came across a similar issue. Its because of the handshake between the laptop and phone not done correctly. Its a software issue of the phone.

oh thanks for the reply. your right its a phone problem.. thanks again
-
Yeah I can reproduce it too. I actually send 1 alienware 15 R1 back because of this while it was because of my phone. It happens when some phones have a quick charge style system but isnt fully compatible. It does charge faster that port.

i tryed with iphone to and dont work, the same for a BB curve

My Galaxy Note 4 and my wife's Note 4 works fine on my 17R3...
With that said I had I did have this problem before when I had my 15R1.
Its strange that the issue is gone now.

my concern with this is that when i'll flash my note 4 and there will be a connection problem i might say bye bye note 4.. LOL..
-
I was flashing a Note 4 on my AW15 and it indeed got messed up. Not from the connection issue but because I wiped the whole phone even the system partition and then I could not flash anything back on it.
Its pretty difficult to hard brick a sammy phone now a days. If its having issues you will just not be able to flash via Odin it will fail etc. -
My s6 failed to flash right out of the box but i could recover it with odin. Love the phones that samsung make nowadays when it comes to hardwarw. But their firmwares suck.

Guyz I've tried disabling USB selective suspend setting. I think this is the cause of the problem. Give it a try, it might help.

Going to try this when I get home tonight.. I have also had problems with my Iphone 6s+ when connecting to my A15 R1 since the beginning. Basically, the USB ports on the left side of the screen keep refreshing when connected (basically simulating the action of plugging it in and out every 10 or so seconds). The ports on the right side, however, tend to work usually for an hour or so but then randomly disconnect. -
Where do you disable that?

Control panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advance power settings > scroll down to USB
USB port problem.
