I'll test Chipset SW. As for RSTe 16.x it had bugs and slower than Dell stock driver. So, 16.0.2.x worked for me. Also, judal57 uses the same driver as well through Windows update when he showed WU history of installed packages.

Whats the difference between Intel(R) Thunderbolt(TM) Controller Driver and Intel Thunderbolt Controller Driver? I have these 2 in my driver and download page for my Alienware 17 r3..
-
-
I couldn't download anything from station-drivers. Could you upload those to another site? Thanks
-
You need to hit Download Twice since I don't use direct downloads and lets users see what they're downloading and don't blindly download them.tungd678 likes this.

Seem like there's problem with IDM so I turned it off and downloaded just fine with chrome.Vasudev likes this.

@Vasudev ive installed windows 10 1809 October Update from Fresh ISO.. no problems so far.. used latest intel graphics driver latest for october update.. so far so good.. rest all stock 15r2 drivers.. to be honest.. my edge is faster.. snappier.. even windows store loads faster.. i like the new gamebar as well.. it loads immediately.. will check on gaming performance tonight or tomorrow.. btw even on ubuntu my brightness controll doesnt work.. i thot swapping OS will help bring back the control.. i have a good display.. but to be honest.. its draining my battery in 3-4hours max.. before it used to give me 5-7hours.. Flux is not usefull anyways
-
Try intel backlight in ubuntu.
I'm skipping v1809 because I don't have time to clean install. I'll wait for some other OS because after updates they'll be ruined anyways.
I am on v1803 but I got new Game bar through Store app. I didn't try it.VICKYGAMEBOY likes this. -
thats ok, i understand the issues with W10 updates, new skype app looks so much better, i wish 10 UI was like that, intelbacklight ok will give it a try.. im not good in ubuntu. i dont even know how to install drivers

@Papusan New intel driver is cool, it fixed strange artifacts in Youtube.

Updated Touchpad,thunderbolt,IRST and bluetooth.
Grab intel and nvidia drivers from techpowerup mirror. I'll add it in a few days.VICKYGAMEBOY likes this. -
im using latest thunderbolt, intel DCH and nvidia DCH module drivers, and im not using IRST cuz im on AHCI mode with standard inbox MS Driver.. bluetooth im on 10.0.0.709 i guess.. i just tested 10 game with new intel DCH and new Nvidia DCH drivers, i never had such consistent frame time before for past 2 years.. im happy with the latest driver, cant say the same for the other drivers..Vasudev likes this.
-
I hate DCH drivers because they don't ship with NVCPL and intel cpl. Also, they leave lot of remnants in driver store.c69k likes this.
-
its not resource heavy like the legacy ones.. but yes u need to download from MS store, it automatically downloads for you, it also brings back the old stlye tray icon for nvidia.. i just ordered a new 92Whr battery, my old one had those cable issues, locally they tried to fix using solder method, but again it broke, no option but to get a new one, ETA 28 Days..
-
They are legacy apps packaged as modern apps.
-
I'm testing few drivers and once its done almost all are UWD drivers except Chipset,IRST &MEI are legacy drivers.
-
i dont think there is a UWD for creative Sound Blaster Recon 3Di, and same goes for synaptics and Other essential drivers.. BTW im back to 1803 once again, oh man there is some weird issues gaming on 1809, i get better frametimes and beter overall FPS on 1803, even i tried disabling FS optimization off.. really dint, tried the lates 19H1 build as well yesetday, most of the DX9 games doesnt work at all. MS should have made a lightweight OS..Vasudev likes this.
-
I think Synaptics mouse driver is latest version 19.5.x and it has UWP control panel.
I'm still using v1803.VICKYGAMEBOY likes this. -
I have not got UWD creative driver. The drivers are really old 2015. We might get updated drivers if someone use recond3di with 9th gen laptops!
-
yes its more stable, for older programs, 1809 is a buggy fuss, some programs runs fine, but games / drivers have so many issues, due to FSO and Game DVR things.. even though u disable it.. keeping the 15r1 R2 posts alive is harder these days.. most of them moved on to R3,R4 or the latest m15 and the new BIG BOY in town.. lol.. ill be updating as much as i can for this model.. drivers to testing new games.. i still post game videos here and there on my youtube channel.. i sold rest of my systems btw.. had to..Vasudev likes this.
-
i think recond 3di is discontinued.. they have not updated their road map on any of their recon series.. so yeah mostly they will go for realtek..Vasudev likes this.

-
Tried EVGA driver for x299 and it didn't work.
-
WU updates the same old 2016 driver for creative sound blaster recon 3di.. because dell never published.. sadly even creative never updated for the PCIe Model.
WU - Dell published drivers : Dell Airplane Mode Switch 1.4.7, Synaptics Touchpad 19.2.17.70, Intel ME 1815.12.0.2021.Vasudev likes this. -
I'm using airplane mode driver from WU catalog and synaptics 19.5. I'll post the driver links this Sunday. I'm doing some tests to check for issues!
-
ive already tested few 2019 drivers from WU catalog and from lenevo and dell other model.. Intel DPTF breaks the fan curve. anything above 8.2 it doesnt work at intended.. 8.3 early drivers works, but not on latest builds.. i hate dell driver team.. saddist.. always says last updated and use the same F old drivers.. i dont have TB devices.. so i never tested those devices.. Intel New DCH driver have new audio driver + some brigthness control stuff.. for me it doesnt matter cuz im using the 120hz ips panel.. without the proper EDID
-
I used linux to install DPTF driver in linux and suddenly I get DPTF disabled so I'm thinking DPTF driver isn't working on our model.

Backtracked to older Nvidia 391.25 DEll driver for testing. I want to check Frame time between older and newer drivers.
VICKYGAMEBOY and c69k like this. -
i have good min FPS on 389 stock windows update driver for our model, dell never published 391.25 to MS update server.. im on all stock drivers except nvidia latest 418.91.. which have the new GFE.. new GFE runs smoother now.. ALT + Z transistion is butter smooth.. not sure new framework may be... lately dell updating on 15R2 page, but all same old drivers.. i was excited to see alienware command center update.. but it was just old..Vasudev likes this.

New 2019 Driver for Bluetoooth Ver 10.0.817
https://support.killernetworking.com/download/bluetooth-for-killer-1535-1525-1435-windows-10/ -
I think I was using 10.x.x.8xx 3 months ago by downloading it from MS catalog. Its under 1MB and just everything works unlike Killer drivers.
-
Just Posting incase people ask for official site drivers
Yes those are 12.0.0.817 versions made for 1550 initially.. You should def give new geforce a try.. it sure is better.. Finished Resident Evil 2.. Batman. Ac odyssey long back.. waiting for FC NEW Dawn and Metro pirces to slash.. Tried Windows 20H1 build yesterday lol.. i gotta say its super snappier
c69k likes this. -
Let me try latest driver. You're using Stock desktop or notebook driver?
Win 10 has a tendency to be super snappy insider release and f***ed up public release that kills the snappiness. So once GP testing is done and Retpoline works for general release I ain't updating.VICKYGAMEBOY likes this. -
for now there is no difference between desktop or notebook one on my end.. im using latest version.. in lot of games i got good fps average / min and in some games there used to be menu lag.. like ac odyssey.. now its gone.. Yeah ill be the GP.. i cannot resist new releases for some reason..
-
even dell new G5 got command center for controlling fans / doing other stuffs. while for us there is no command center.. all we have a old skool one..
-
I'm already using it the direct de-bloated drivers from chef koch of 300MB.
-
i have nvslimmer, so i manually do all the debloat.. i only install phsyx and main core driver.. i download GFE separate incase if i want to test..
-
I use manual removal. After Chef koch repack I think data is saved by hefty amount by removal of bloatware.VICKYGAMEBOY likes this.
-
Reverted to 391.35 driver since I have weird stuttering on witcher 3, Bioshock Infinite, Batman games. Witcher 2 unplayable with constant stuttering.
-
may be its just something else interfereing with the driver.. there could be so many factors.. for me it ran fine.. i never had issues with newer drivers.. it just new windows FSOs and Extra things mess up the game..
-
FSO?
I reverted back because all games be it new or better seems for work on 980 with little to no benefit in FPS. And in Linux I moved to latest 415.27 driver which is running great. Computing on windows isn't a deal breaker for me on Windows since I moved to Linux for development for better peace of mind and I Clean install every 3 or 5 year basis. -
Full Screen Optimizations... 389 is same as 391.. infact all stock drivers which is installed through windows update runs fine for me.. i have 2 different bootup drives.. one with all stock MS settings, Microsoft account and stock drivers.. another set of windows 10 pro with offline account and bare minimum latest drivers and my custom tweaks.. for a fps difference hardly of 1-4fps on average i really dont recomend tweaking so much / uninstalling install new drivers everynow and thn.. the benifit you get is very low / comparing the problem it creates from installing over and over with differnt drivers..Vasudev likes this.
-
You can try 416.34.. This driver was recommended by Mr. Fox on a previous thread. I have a 970m and not having any issues at all or maybe I am not aware of a certain issue. But for my usage everything works fine.
Updated drivers for 15r2 for Spring Update
