Just asking if anyone is having issues with the upgrading process to Windows 10 AU.

I haven't read anything specific so far. It just seems like some people don't like the new way some features are presented and that the browser is set back to Edge as default. -
Which new features?

I had a problem with my Sound Blaster Recon3di. I had to reinstall it and solved the issue.
-
No issue with the upgrade process but the update had a negative effect on my AGA. Framerate went from > 80 to < 30 on Wolfenstein. Didn't matter what graphics settings I used. Rolled back.
-
how do you roll back? is it in the setting on update and security? and if you roll back won't windows 10 automatically update it again?
-
A possible incompatibility with the AU and GT80s:

"Looks like the Windows 10 Anniversary update is not compatible with the GT80s. I have never seen so many blue screens, got rid of that fast!" -
No. You can opt to delay it. Not sure if indefinitely.
-
there's no point for me to roll back then because as of the moment I don't have any issues and plus windows 10 will automatically update it again anyway. thanks for the reply.

You can roll back Windows 10 builds and updates

The Anniversary Update reduces the rollback time from 30 days to 10 days...

It seems to best avoid the update for the time being, too many driver related issues to make it worthwhile
-
Windows 10 education. No clue why this is happening. Windows Update refuses to work too.
-
What driver issues? Perhaps the update process screws up some drivers but the OS / OS version are the same.
Do you have specifics on which drivers its breaking? My laptop just updated and so far I see no issues. Will be playing some games to see.hmscott likes this. -
I got the update, no issues so far that I've noticed and I like some of the improvements.
This is on my AW 17 R3 w/ GA GTX 1080.hmscott likes this. -

Long thread here in Macrium Support site, worth reading for other comments:
Schedules no longer work after Anniversary Update
http://forum.macrium.com/Dialogs/PostDetails.aspx?PostID=8388
"There was no lack of awareness on anyone's part, and most certainly not on the part of Macrium developers or Reflect users who posted several items here regarding the issue throughout the Windows "Insider Preview" lead-up to the W10 "Anniversary Update".
Microsoft was also made aware by both users and software makers (including but not limited to Macrium) of problems during that period with the failures of various Windows "Preview" releases to properly support the Windows Task Scheduler 1.0 API.
It is Microsoft's responsibility, not Macrium's, to "prevent" or deal with such failures in Windows OS components.
In this case, they obviously haven't done so. Macrium may be guilty of over-optimism (naïveté?) in expecting a Microsoft fix prior to the final W10 "Anniversary" public release, but not lack of awareness nor any failure to test and confirm and report the issue during the preceding months.
The best Macrium can do now is to bug Microsoft about it again and try to find some kind of workaround in the meantime."
This may affect other products... worth checking any of your schedulers against successful runs / notifications compared to Windows Scheduler. -
.RDP files won't open (remote desktop) after Win10 Anniversary Update
https://social.technet.microsoft.co...anniversary-update?forum=win10itpronetworking
"After the Windows 10 Anniversary Update was installed on my Windows 10 Pro, .RDP files won't open. Remote Desktop still works if you open it manually and enter in the server info. But my saved .RDP files won't open. Also, right clicking on them and selecting edit also does not work. Nothing happens. I even opened Remote Desktop connection, entered in the server info manually and clicked Save As. That shortcut also won't work. Any ideas on what's wrong? Thanks." -

The annoying thing for me, is that the link "microsoft support" redirects to a selfhelp. Which is in no way related to the error.hmscott likes this.

Found this on another site. Still a bit reluctant to try AU again.

I used to have this issue on my old pc, without the anniversary update ofcourse. The fix was, as said in the post; to disable Dvr in the Xbox app.
-
No issues from a personal respective, yet. A few medical offices I work with are having issues.

Wouldn't you feel personally responsible for those Windows 10 Upgrades if you recommended them?
Now that they are having trouble do they look to you to make them right, fix them?
Have they asked about rolling back to whatever they had before the Windows 10 Upgrade?
Or were these all new Windows 10 installs or new computers that had Windows 10 from their start?Last edited: Aug 9, 2016 -
Took the plunge and updated again. This time I disabled the DVR and reinstalled NVIDIA drivers. Now it works fine. Still wouldn't recommend it until all the kinks are ironed out though.

Up until a day or 2 ago, if you were running Avast on a Skylake CPU, installing the Anniversary Update would result in a BSOD. There was an incompatibility between the antivirus driver and the new OS code.
If you had this issue, make sure that Avast is fully updated and the update should install just fine.hmscott likes this. -
Ironically, every machine we upgraded to Windows 10 had zero issues. This machine was shipped with 10 on it and received the anniversary update. Rolled it back, works fine again.hmscott likes this.

How does that rollback on updates work?
I would assume it's only temporary as MS forces all updates, so how long of a reprieve does it give to rollback?
Is there a listed time limit that it will stay rolled back? -
That I'm not sure on. It's Pro so I just need to turn on CBB so I can prevent it from happening for at least up to 8 months.

So I could finally update Windows.
Mouse acceleration changed itself to off.
Classic shell got uninstalled without my "ok", because it wouldnt work with the Windows version. But ofc the same version worked when I reinstalled it.
My custom keyboard binds got reset.
Even if I selected windows to not change my default browser, Edge was the default browser. And at the first time it wouldnt allow me because "TEST ME IM NEW"
The "taskbar" settings are gone? Atleast the good menu that I liked.
The Searchbar changed size.
Notification Center is not yet again on my Taskbar against my will. (Easy fix but still)
CS:GO got tabbed down because of Comodo Firewall asked if I wanted to allow some new windows feature through..
On the plus side!
The settings are now slightly improved.
BASH
Windows 10 Anniversary Update has released, any issues so far?
