So there's a tl;dr story of how I ended up with store credit, but now I need to figure out what to buy. Ideally I'd find a set of headphones matching this price. There is a pair of wireless ones but no description. Does anyone know if these Creative headphones are good?

I'm really not averse to ordering anything if it is useful and within this price range. Even one of those 1G mp3 players they carry, except I've never heard of Zen. Working out with a clunky 80 gig ipod is kind of difficult.
Also could use a laptop cooler but those are too cheap. If I could combine one with something else that'd be great too.
Also, I forgot to ask the rep on the phone but do they do combined shipping for items? Cause the laptop says free ground shipping.

This is a laptop cooler I got from excaliberpc about a year ago, and it has been great. I really recommend it. http://www.excaliberpc.com/559755/cooler-master-r9-nbc-awak-notepal-notebook.html

Mnm, the Zen Stone MP3 players aren't all that great. They are alright, kinda like an iPod Shuffle (I think the Stone is inferior though). I had a Creative Zen: V for a year before moving to a hard drive mp3 player, but it worked well for me. I only froze it once and that was because I was scrolling too fast. Most of the Creative Mp3 players can be pretty good. I'm not sure about the headphones, they can be hit or miss sometimes I hear.
A tl;dr story eh? I'm almost curious as to what it is now. XP (I always get curious about them.) -
You really wanna hear it?lol
The tl;dr is that I pre-ordered an Asus g50v from them and paid around $125 to have it shipped here, but the very next day found out that customs here charge a 40-45% fee off the retail value of items like laptops. So I put my order on hold and tried to figure out a way to get around this highway robbery. It so happens that one of my father's friends is in the states on a business trip right now so I'm going to have excaliber ship the package to his address and he can just bring it back with him. But that leaves me with a $125 store credit since shipping inside US is free. And since it was an international wire transfer it is much easier for me to just use that money to order something additional than have to wire it back. Plus, there ARE things I could use anyway that will cost more here. See, I told you it was long.
Moral of the story: never have any expensive electronics (or whatever) ship internationally without first checking customs regulations. I learned this the hard way. -
if you want a cooler to go on your lap them there is one by belkin that is just for that.
-
If I don't order one from them I'll check out Belkin coolers irl. Thank you.
I also completely forgot that I could really use a networking cable that would let me transfer data from my old computer onto the new laptop through USB. I'm not sure what they're called, I know there used to be one somewhere in my closet. -
Yeah, you'd probably be better off looking for better headphones or the laptop cooler. It's too bad they don't get some of those nicer headphones that everyone always seems to rave about.
Like those Seinheisers (I can't remember the spelling lol), or AKG, or etc.
Ah, well, at least you were able to find some way to get past customs. That sounds not so fun to have to deal with that. xD But wow, that's a steep tax.
Well, I think you have made a good decision in what you will probably get with it. (I think the Zen Stone headphones are the kinds that came with my Zen: V, but they aren't horribly great. My earbuds now are like, 30x better. xD) -
It turned out I actually have $135 credit. So far I'm looking at these things to use it on:
http://www.excaliberpc.com/580138/creative-headphones-headsets-mz031-fatal1ty.html
http://www.excaliberpc.com/570880/zalman-zm-nc1000b-cooler-for-notebook.html
http://www.excaliberpc.com/566897/a-data-4g-usb-2.0-oriental.html
I know the Fatal1ty got mixed reviews so I'm not setting my hopes too high. If they suck I'll just buy Seinnheisers here. The Zalman cooler seems to have good reviews but I have also heard Zalman stuff is not super well made so I might reconsider. This comes to $128 so I'll just ask them to throw in a cable or something to make up the small difference. Good thing is the rep I talked to tonight said they'll ship the extras for free too.
What do you think? -
Bumpity bump.
Gotta finalize my order by tomorrow, so any advice on the items is greatly welcome. Thank you.
$125 store credit at excaliberpc.com, what to get?
