Hi everyone, i just bought a white MacBook and i was wondering if anyone could recommend me a carrying case/sleeve to keep my laptop in. I want to be able to take it to school and other places. What do you guys use?! Any advice is greatly depreciated. :D

i use the incase neoprene sleeve with my macbook pro. Ive gotta say its perfect. Throw the sleeved comp into a backpack and you have an instant laptop bag. Ive used it near every day this semester and it work like a charm.

are the incase sleeves thin? cause i kind of have the habit of dropping my bag.. and aluminum is much more prone to dents than the common laptops (magnesium? whatever material it is)

To be honest. Neoprene sleeves truly offer NOTHING in terms of protection.

Your MBP is a pretty large investment in $.

The case I would recommend is the ZeroShock III. Made in Japan by a company called Elecom.

I have a review right here. Give it a look! Good lucK!

If you're in the habit of dropping your bag, it would be worthwhile for you to find a laptop backpack that has some sort of 'suspension' system for the laptop compartment, so it can take the dropping. For example, my swiss gear backpack sort of has this, where there is a space between the bottom of the laptop compartment and the bottom of the backpack. The ZeroShock sleeve does offer a bit of protection on the edge (where the laptop will be hit if you're storing it in your backpack), but I don't think it will be enough if you're in the habit of dropping your bag heavily.

I agree with Lattice. ZeroShock III is a SLEEVE.

That being said I personally think it is one of the best and my ASUS 1000H has survived a couple gruesome falls with the Zshock around it without a bag.

However, If you have a bad habit of dropping your laptop, opt for a bag with a suspended pouch as Lattice said

Is the Zero Shock III good for the new aluminum Macbook?

The Zeroshock III is quite possibly the best sleeve for any notebook. It comes in sizes up to 17.1". :)

I generally just use a standard notebook bag, but put my notebook inside a neoprene/hardshell case. I don't drop it, throw it around or hit people with it, some it stays relatively safe. I know that sometimes accidents happen, but if you're careful, you should be okay.

    +1

I have a Zeroshock III for my Macbook; my Toshiba U405D, my HP DV5T, and both my Toshiba P305Ds. The best!
