I thinking of changing for 2 months now (xmas-cash :)) but im not quite sure to spend that 50 bucks for a new mouse not knowing its worth it...

    i have both the MX510 and the G5 rev.2

what kind of resolution are you running at? if its larger than 1680x1050 i think its worth it, the G5 is very accurate, combined with the right mousepad (i use cybersnipa alumunium) it is very smooth and accurate. i like the teflon feet which is very smooth, and the braided cord, which feels and look nice.

the buttons is quiet compared to the mx510 clicky feel, it feels a bit bigger and heavier, the weighting things is a gimmick i thought, they should just tweak it at the factory.

the buttons, especially the left and right click button, feels very accurate, it gives accurate and satisfying click. it feels firm as a downside. depends on your taste, but after clicking for long period of time (on FPS, yes lots of clicking), my hand feels tired on the g5 more than the mx510. not by much though.

i love the g5 rev2 texture, it doesnt collect and show dirt like the old one, and feels very nice, especially on sweaty palm, it gives more grip too.

i love both of the mx510 and the g5. both are really good mouse. but i gotta give points for the g5 for the braided cord, teflon feet, and the lovely texture, and the more accurate click button.

if you have the money, get the G5, it is the better mouse.
if you want to save a bit of money, get the mx510.

either way, you cant loose, both are very good mouse.
i still suggest that you get the G5.

i have had both and i think the G5 is better although not by much. The mouse wheel on the MX518 is really small and i dont feel comfortable with it, and the weight think is not a gimmick. I like my mouse to be heavy, the MX 518 is too light for my liking

Agreed, the weight's with the G5 made me pretty happy, i've got it set at the heaviest and the mouse is just perfect, the DPI indicator is a plus as well, also the grip of the G5 helps as well.
    +1 for G5.

Thanks guys - ill stick with the MX518, because that mouse has not an error and works properly. If theres no difference for me with that small resolution on screen its not worth the 50 bucks.

    Thx to all!
