I want to watch TV (especially the basketball game, Let's go Lakers!), but since I will be moving to a different country in 4 months, I don't want to buy a new TV.

So I've been looking at USB TV Tuner.. but how does this work?

Say I buy this one - Amazon.com: Avertv Hybrid Volar Max TV Tuner Kit for Windows MTVHVMXSK: Electronics

Is this all I need or do I need to buy like a separate cable? Is this plug-in-and-play type of device?

    Thanks!

TV tuner turns your computer into a TV. All you need is a cable or satellite with coax connection to plug in and it should work. Different countries may not carry basketball channels probably show more soccer. You may have to get a satellite setup to catch a channel that has Lakers games. Or try internet connection, maybe games are streamed somewhere.

I'm in U.S. My dormitory has cable so I think I just need to plug it in.. so in that case, I would just need the tuner and coax cable for it to work??

Go with the KWorld UB4350-Q over that avertv one. I currently have two kworlds and one of the avers connected to my desktop, and the aver refuses to pull anywhere near the same number of channels from cable. Its being relegated to the weaker of the two antenna's, with the two kworlds having priority (one cable one ota).

I've got this I'd let get for dirt cheap. I haven't used it in a couple years. I only use the antenna occasionally. If interested pm me.
