Hello notebookreview,
I want to share my experience with the last notebook cooler I purchased, the Lepa Lepad V17, a cheap (15/20$), up to 17 inches notebook cooler. First, here the specs

The packaging is pretty simple, inside you can find the cooler protected by a bubble wrap bag, and some rubber feet to fix yourself. And that's all, it's not like we need anything else.
The cooler is a bit small for big 17" laptops (like Asus RoG) but an average 17" laptops should easily fits, and it perfectly fits my Medion Erazer (a pretty big 15" notebook, almost as much as a standard 17" laptop).
The Lepad looks and feels very good, with a mix of matt plastic and aluminium (the mesh part). It has 3 positions, horizontal, a bit raised or raised thanks to 2 retractile feet (it doesn't look super solid though).
This cooler is equipped with a 14cm fan, which the speed can be controlled thanks to a potentiometer (it also acts as a power button). Even at full speed, it's a bit noisy, but any loaded laptop will overwhelm it. I simply suggest to turn off the fan when the pc is idling. A nice blue led can also be activated.
Now, some pics.
Compared to a slighty modded Notepal U2![]()

As you can see, there are 2 USB (one to power the fan), the power wheel and the led switch.
Performance-wise... it's just excellent, for my laptop at least. It didn't really helped the cpu (2°c at most, but it is already well cooled anyway) but the gpu temps dropped significantly, about 8°c. It performs better than my modded Notepal (with a wall powered desktop fan) at equal speed (5v max since USB can't provide more).
Results for Unigine Valley (GTX 670MX @950/1400MHz)
Raised laptop (stand on cooler but fan off) : 79°c
Modded Notepal 5v 73°c, mid speed 71°, 12v 69°
Lepad V17 max power: 70°c, min power (prob around 3v) 73°c
(cpu around 50° in any case)
Dragon Age 3
Raised laptop : 80°c (it couldn't heat further since the internal fan speed up once 80°c is reached)
Modded Notepal 5v 75°c, mid speed 73°c, 12v 72°c
Lepad V17 max power: 73°c, min power 76°c (-7°c and more silent since it never reaches 80°)
(cpu 65 avg)
God, it just performs almost as good as my modded Notepal at 12v, I was blown away. I feel I murdered my Notepal for nothing, if I knew a 5v fan could do better than my wall powered fan lol...
I would give 20/20, I doubt a pricier laptop cooler would do better (maybe the wall powered one which are 3x pricier), and certainly not the Notepal which did nothing on my pc (before mod ofc).
My Medion (GT60 chassis) is modded but even without that, I am pretty sure it would still works well. Sure a cooling pad doesn't work equally on all laptops, but still this one is the best I've tested.
Excellent job, Lepa.
