Are there any monitors, (New or Second Hand) that you would recommend for light photography/Gimp work that are less than 20" and Less than £100?

Just about all 17" ones are 4:3 now, and 18"/19" are only 1366x768.

I have been using my E6220, the screen size is not the issue, just the overall quality for photos, I get a weird noise/gaining effect where it has very harsh transitions between graded colours.

    Any ideas?

A cheaper 1080p monitor is the best you can do for that price, but they start at 21.5 inches. No way should you spend money on a monitor that is less than 1080p.

Yeah I have seen some 21", 22" and 24" ones very cheap at 1080P, I use a BenQ 24" FHD one at work, but it would be just too big at home.
Really 19" or 20" would be the biggest I need, but they all seem to be 1366x768, same as my 12.5" E6220!

I know what you mean, but see if you can get 21.5" to work. Because if you can't, you are going to have to compromise a lot.
