I am in the market for one of these as my 500gb is about full.

Anyone use a 1tb or 2tb hard drive they would suggest?

So far I am looking at the WD 2TB Mirror edition.

    Other options:
    Iomega

Is there a way to have some sort of multi level enclosure, where I can just place Bare drives in and can connect to my laptop via 1 USB? I do not know how reliable these are but it seems like it would be cheaper than buying a pre packaged external, and I could load multiple drives and read it with 1 USB.

Right now I have 2 x 160 GB Externals & 1 500 GB external which is taking up all my usb ports. :badpc:

I'm just curious, what do you guys store in there? I have had a desktop for a couple of years now and all I have right now is 15GB used out of 186GB.

Mostly music collections, and Backed up high def movies and whatnot. And I have a big folder full of programs that I install after a Clean Install of vista.

Do you have an eSATA port? They have enclosures that can hold up to 4 drives and use eSATA.

That calvary is cheaper than the 750gb FreeAgent I got recently. There are really no drawbacks to it? Hows the DTR?

I bought a 1TB seagate SATA drive and stuck it in a rosewill USB2.0 enclosure. Works very well.
