i was thinking since the new thing now is that every one have 2.5 external hard drive...
the next thng that would start to blow up is 1.8 (whats inside ipod) and 1 inch hard drive and the biggest 1.8 is 100gb... and it cost about 3$ per GB.

Does anyone have this??? is it reliable as a 2.5, or it blows??? i want to get one just to be cool :)

If you really want one, buy an ipod and take it apart.

Honestly I would say that it's going to be a while before you can use these as an external hard drive like the 2.5 inch drives. I'm not really sure as to when, but it ain't now.

You can buy them, but they are slower than there 2.5" brothers.

they have 1.8" SSD's aswell. I dont see any reason for 1.8" to take over any part of the 2.5" market speed slower, cost higher, lower storage with no real benifit except its abit smaller.

But thats where SSD and other flash type devices step in instead.

I used to have two. I had a 60GB and 80GB because I was allowed to keep the drives when I sent in my old D420 for repairs (one of the perks of having a billion Dells lmao). Anyway I stuck one inside an enclosure I got off ebay and it worked pretty well for transfering game files during lanparties etc. Other than that not too much use and a USB Flash drive is more convenient. Anyway I sold those two and got myself 2 Raptor 150GBs and 2 Seagate 7200.10 320GB lol.
