I Moved Into A Very Old (pre-1960s) Apartment Which Has Only Two Prong Type 110 Volt Ac Sockets. Will It Be Safe For My Computer (and For Myself Shock Wise) If I Were To Use A Three To Two Prong Adapter And Then Simply Plug The Surge Protector Cable Into That Adapter?

Your Assistance Will Be Truly Appreciated.

I don't know how safe it is, but I do this lots. My house is old, and only has 3 prongs in the kitchen. So I have 6 power strips in my house, and all are using those adapters. It works fine, however sometimes the plug starts to "slip out" of the adapter, and you need to reseat it. Other than that, it works fine. I couldn't tell you about the safety factor.

Here in Japan, there are only the two prong style plugs. (They look and work exactly like the old ones back in the states.) So for neither I nor any of my friends are dead. ;-)
