    Hey all :)

I'll shortly be the proud owner of a Toshiba Qosmio X300, which is a 17" widescreen notebook. I travel a bit. Obviously, in buying the laptop, I wasn't looking for high portablity, but on occasion I would like to take it on a plane. The bag therefore has to be 55cm x 40cm x 20cm or under, which seems quite do-able. (Thought I would edit this - we have very strict carry on rules in the UK at the moment, hence the dimensions. I've gotten away with having a slightly bigger bag in depth before, so I think up to about 24cm would be ok).

However, in looking around on the internet, I'm having trouble finding a bag that'll have a bit of space for me to pack a pair of jeans, a couple of t-shirts with it. I do this at the moment with a smaller laptop/bag combination. It has space for my 12.1" inch in a little sleeve of its own, but since the bag has just one main compartment (and a thin front pocket), it makes it easy to stuff random things like clothes in there too.

Other requirements are that I can buy it easily in the UK, and I don't want to spend more than £30 ideally. I have found this bag - http://www.portdesigns.com/new/inde...acturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=169 - which seems like it might do the trick, but I was wondering if anyone had any other recommendations?

For example, this bag - http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=303849&CatId=622 - maybe has too many pockets splitting it up to be quite as useful as I'd want.

The other alternative I'm thinking is to get something like this http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2861962/Trail/searchtext>TROLLEY+CASE.htm which, when padded with clothes too, should protect the laptop.

Get the Targus XL (1) or the JanSport Revolt (2) if you want a decent bag (both 17")

The Targus XL I can find in the UK doesn't seem to be all that big, ie for storing other stuff :(

Jansport Revolt is possible... just not sure how much can be stored in the main pocket hmm...

Edit: Doh, the Revolt says it'll take a height of 27cm, mine will be 30.6cm :-(

I'd recommend the Swissgear Wenger if you can get it there.

BTW, I had the same issue that you have (17 inch notebook) and bought an XPS M1330 for traveling.

    I have a Samsung Q45 too :)

But I want a bag that will at least store my laptop and I'll be able to take it on a plane too. The place I visit well.. we might game a bit, and someone DEFINITELY wants to see my shiny new laptop :D

Thanks for the recommendation, will look it up!
