Hey, I was looking around for a backpack that could fit a 17" notebook, but could also fit a ton of books and folders for school. I was going to get the Targus TXL617, but I can't find any retailers in the UK. Anyone got other recommendations for an especially large backpack that has a place to put a 17" laptop?

They don't seem to sell that one. The XL (just XL, no other designations) is the one sold in the UK. I have one and it seems perfectly able to do what you need it to do.

Admittedly since I use it solely for the once in a blue moon wheeze on the bicycle to work, it carries not much more than lightweight tools needed to put my bike back together and the lighter of the 13-inchers I have at most - but the lock weight is definitely enough to simulate a heavier notebook, and it seems to work fine for me.

Consider the Samsonite Interchange or the Swissgear Synergy.

17" notebook and books and ...

Go with a back pack that has built-in roller as well - Kipling rolling bag/case.

    cheers ...
