I really need a bag for my 17" laptop and I'm a little short on money, so I have a strict $65 limit on a bag. No backpacks. It needs to be able to, obviously, hold a 17" laptop, as well as a decent amount of stuff, power cables, mouse, papers, and a few books if needed.

I've been looking at the Targus Los Angeles, and it looks pretty nice, any feedback on it?
Any other bag suggestions before I buy it?

The one you found is very nice..It appears to be roomy, and has nice shoulder straps..so you won't kill your shoulders/back...Which is important with a 17" notebook! :D

I found another one on amazon.com, it's also a Targus..It's roomy, and such, priced how you want ~ And has good shoulder straps! Oh, it also has had some nice reviews on it!

The Samsonite XL45 is a good option to consider. Look at ebags.com for more options.

I thought you wanted a backpack, not a messenger back. Just ignore my post up there.

This is the one I've been using for my sophomore and junior year of high school.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834999896

It doubles as my bag and my laptop bag becuase I bring my laptop to school everyday. I can carry a decent amount of paper and maybe one text book, I can also fit a full sized mouse and power supply.
