Okay, i have a Alienware m9750 comming in tomorrow and i dont care if it runs at 40 degrees F, i still want a laptop cooling station for it. So does anyone know of a very reliable, high quickly, QUIET! (I know its ironic that i shouted quite) cooler. Anyone want to send me in the right direction?

I've read the Zalman notebook coolers are too small for 17" widescreens. Shame too, because I love Zalman products.

The Zalman ZM-NC1000 is the best 17" notebook cooler to date. Its design distinguishes itself from the conventional coolers.

I agree with Gophn. The Zalman NC1000 is an excellent cooler for desktop replacement notebooks. Outstanding design and effective cooling.

Ive also heard that the Zalman cooler is jsut a tad bit short when in comes to the width of the 17in widescreen notebooks. Is it something noticeable or just something minimum.

I hear it doesnt fit 17" notebooks at all, especially the 5790. I dont want to worry about the notebook slipping off if I adjust myself in my seat.

it really depends on where ur intake fan is located. for mine it was just a tad too small. it was blocking the grill where the air is sucked in so it was doing more bad than good. but it did keep my memory and HD really cool.

Okey Dok, I'm sure I need one of these Zalman 1000's. I ordered a Sager 9260 17". I checked the size of it and the Zalman, seems like the 9260 will be a little oversize for it. Could someone check me on that measurement??? Thanks. That being said could someone recommend one that would fit it??

    Thanks for the help.

Ummm... The Zalman ZM-NC1000 has fit all 17" notebooks fine to date.

Even the Clevo D900C (Sager 9260) beast has already confirmed (in the forums) to use this cooler perfectly.... as well as get really great results for gaming notebooks.

Thank you kindly Sir (Gophn), I tried as much as I could to search for that kind of infor, but wasn't able to hit on the right forum, post, link or whatever. Thank you again for your information and most importantly a prompt and kind response.

So the video card exhaust fan on a Clevo 5790 is OK with the zalman cooler? For sure?

If so I just need to decide if I want silver or black.

I'm looking for a widescreen 17" laptop cooler for my ordered sager 9260 as well. People on this forum keep saying that that the Zalman is the best bet for this. However, I want a laptop cooler that is as big as my laptop. I want to use the cooler on my lap so I don't want loads of overhang on the width of the cooler (only the feet of the laptop fitting on the cooler isn't good enough).

I don't understand how a Clevo D901C with the dimensions of:
    397(W) x 298(D) x 51~60(H)mm, fits on a Zalman cooler with dimensions of 330(W) x 308(D) x 40(H)mm.

That's about about 3cm hanging off both the left and right. A widescreen version of the Zalman would be excellent, but as it stands it doesn't cut it in my book for lap comfort. Any other suggestions? Has anyone used the Laptop desk 2.0 (passive cooler: 520(W) x 283(D) x 6.4(H)mm).

Quite interested in this one (would be perfect): Cooler Master NotePal Infinite http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=154090

But, can't find it on sale in europe yet. Check out the dimensions: 380(W) x 300(L) x 10~50(D) mm. That's what I'm talking about, or http://quadcooler.com/products/coolers/big_brian.htm?bb_index.htm , but I think this sucks air from the laptop, and I think I need one to blow air into the D900C fans on the bottom.

    Any other ideas??

Is the Zalman ZM-NC1000 fit a Dell 1720 (17")? The vents are near the rear of the notebook.

I have a D901C and a ZM-NC1000, i personally didn't like my laptop hanging off so much on each side.

The D901C is such a cool machine on it's own, all I've been doing with it is propping the back of it up about 1 1/2" and letting it's fans handle the work. Even gaming I run under 50C on my CPU.

The NC-1000 isn't something you want on your lap. It is slanted and cutout along the middle. I imagine it would be quite uncomfortable. However its the best cooler I have ever used and is great on a desk.

Good point Yoir. When I mean a laptop cooler I can use on my lap I mean one that has an enclosed bottom, i.e. not one of those coolers that have their guts hanging out of the bottom (especially exposed fans with no housing around them- I don't want my 'old boy' to be blended and roasted at the same time :)
