I'm looking for decent speakers that are easy to throw in a suitcase.
I prefer 2.1 if the subwoofer is light enough to travel with a couple times a year by flight.
But a good set of 2.0 speakers with a deep bass can get the job done as well.

How about this one?

I haven't used it before but it does have high reviews and appears to be compact enough. I use a Logitech Z2300 myself and couldn't be more satisfied with a 2.1 product, but the subwoofer from that one is quite heavy. -
What sort of price range are we dealing with?

Logitech X-230
Logitech Z-2300 (Although the subwoofer may be too big. I have it and it is massive, and rather heavy.) -
Hey man, You are advicing to buy Logitech. If you could pay a bit more, go for a pair of genelec 6010A. If one wants real quality, logitech cannot exist in the same sentence.

How big is said suitcase? If you have room, the M-Audio Studiophile AV40(or AV30 if you lack space) are IMO very very impressive 2.0 speakers that sound just as good as(if not better than some) 2.1 sets.

I have the Logitech z-10, in my opinion they are the best set of 2.0 speakers on the market and sound alot better than many 2.1 setups. The are pretty small and the box that they come packaged in is pretty durable and I am still using it to cart them too and from uni for the 12th time.
They have a usb connection (and a aux port) which personally I prefer to having it connected to the headphone port on the laptop. the usb also connects a small lcd panel and contols which is in the front of the right-hand speaker. the controls are play, pause, skip etc and the lcd displays the song that is playing, or cpu & ram activity or unread email notifications. The screen is a bit of gimmic but handy sometimes.
Hope that helps -
You hate for Logitech is so much that I could swear you are a spammer. Plus, you are quite new here, so that's another point made that you could be a spammer. -
Well he has a right to dislike Logitech if he feels they aren't good. None of us have the same judge of sound quality so he can very well feel that Logitech speakers do not provide a quality sound.
I personally feel that Logitech speakers without a good subwoofer(and therefore without booming bass) are mediocre at best; not horrible, but not good either. I've owned 3 Logitech speaker sets(among them the infamous Z-2300) so my assessment is based on the ones I've owned however I have tried the reduce bass on demo models in stores and I've come to notice a similar trend. Therefore, if the OP is in need of a 2.0 set(IMO the "lighter" 2.1 sets from Logitech are really bad compared to other available solutions) then there might indeed be better options. -

Well there will always be people who hate particular things. Some people have a particular dislike of certain laptop brands or certain manufacturers(ex: Nvidia over ATI); sometimes it's just a question of taste and honestly, in this case scenario, it's even more-so than in the cases I've mentioned prior; sound is a subjective thing, but liking a particular brand just because is even more silly.
I've seen people troll over things and honestly, he isn't really all that bad. He just voiced his opinion that Logitechs are trash according to him. I agree that he's not being particularly reasonable about it, but who knows what reference point he's using.
I mean, when compared to no-names, Logitechs may be good, but compared to say PSB Alphas, Logitechs are very bad lol
I digress though, this isn't about trolls or whatever, it's about a decent and apparently lightweight set of either 2.0 or 2.1 speakers. -
I recommend the Audioengine A2 speakers. Great sound, compact size. Review here: http://www.stereophile.com/standloudspeakers/1207ae/
Only real downsides are the $200 price tag and that the volume control knob is in the back. -

2.0 Speakers with good bass, or 2.1 (light subwoofer)
