    2.1 Setup for under 80$

    I was thinking of going with a set of Z-2300 which is gonna be like 85$ on newegg. Are these my best bet. Im looking for a very loud sound, but from what I read these speakers subwoofer is a little much but the dorms around me are gonna have to deal. Whats everybody's recomendations. I need it to be 2.1 or semi small enough for a desk in a dorm room. Thanks guys.

    Try the Logitech X230. It's a bit on the cheap side, but it's one of the better cheap sets. I don't think they make them anymore, but they're still out there. Just don't get the X240's.

    how about the 540's? I know its a 5.1 but it is pretty cheap.

    2.1 expensive is better than 5.1 cheaper..

    i would love to save a few bucks and get those 230's but will the fit the bill. This is for my very small dorm room but I do like a clean crisp sound.

    Small room is more vulnerable to poor sound... the Bass gets too bloated.

    Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 = best for under $80

    Stretch a little Swam M10 but it is mostly for music. Lack a subwoofer, got a woofer instead.

    well, just to be open, if anyone on here has anything to sell im open to that as well. I have amazon prime as well so amazon is nice. that kipsch is a little bit hard to find under 80$.

    Sans ebay or craigslist, you won't find the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 under $80.

    I recommend the Logitech Z-2300. I had it during my dorm year in college and it was awesome. Check Amazon for pricing because the pricing fluctuates dramatically on their site. When it's sold by Amazon (as opposed to a third party seller), it's usually around $77 and free shipping and no taxes. Right now it's a bit much, but just keep checking every couple of days and it'll drop in price once Amazon gets some in stock.

    85$ newegg right now? Thanks guys. Ill check out those klipsh and keep an eye on amazon if I decide to wait. It seems like amazon always keeps one set of logitechs on sale and I know about 3 weeks ago the 2300 were on sale for like 72 with free shipping.
