So i get to uni only to find when i unpack my creative speakers they don't work. Trouble is i can't live without a set of good speakers and money is now an issue. Can anyone recommend a decent set for a fair price??

    Thanks

What sort of price range are you looking at. Have you contacted Creative about the problem with your current speakers?

Anything under £40-50 really but if there is a really stand out pair for like 60-70 then i don't mind living cheaply for a month =]

No not yet. I've had them for about 2 years. And i just set them up as usual and when i turned them on with the volume switch nothing happened. Worth contacting them?

Yes, definitely worth it. Just make sure you check everything is set-up correctly: Plugged in, volume on the input device is turned up, etc.

I suggest the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 system. I've tried a few different 2.1 systems and in my opinion is the best one for the money.

The logitech z-2300 is marvelous. I know it's slightly beyond your budget, but they are worth every penny.

The logitech z-4 is decent for its price of $60-80.
Or the creative t20 if you are looking to save space.

Speakers usually don’t have any complex circuitry (only a simple amp circuit) therefore most probably it is just a loose wire or a faulty power adapter. If it is not the power adapter then look inside the subwoofer (where the amp is) or the volume control, maybe you can fix it.

Yes, I have them and highly recommend them. And they're only $84 on Amazon + free shipping + no sales tax: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Z-23...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1225957655&sr=8-1
