Has anyone heard these speakers?
ALTEC LANSING MX5021 2.1
My Klipsch Promedia 2.1 subwoofer is dead, so I stated looking at these Altec Lansing MX5021 speakers. They're very highly reviewed. You can see them here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836113139
Any comments?

Look pretty good, but quite a steep price tag...
I'd look at other Klipsh or JBL/Harmon Kadon or Logitech's z-series as well, which I'm sure you're aware of... -
Have you contacted Klipsch regarding a replacement sub? It might be more affordable than spending $133+S/H.

BTW, I have not heard the speakers in question! -
They are selling refurbed 2.1s on Klipsch's website for $99.

the logitech Z-2300 are supposed to blow all other 2.1 setups out of the water, they are THX certified and highly reviewed everywhere, and only $89 on newegg.com. i am getting them and cnet.com named it an editors choice

Agreed with Circa - get Logitech Z-2300's. Best 2.1 speakers around. Also, they carry a very reasonable price tag - under $100. I am thinking about picking them up for myself...

I think he wants a pair of desktop speakers.

I dunno, but I've got a hard time trusting speakers from a mouse/keyboard company (Logitech). That's kinda silly, huh?
My Klipsch are almost three years old and are well out of warranty or I'd try to get the sub replaced.
I've seen some set-ups where a PC is connected to actual hi-fi speakers and a stereo receiver. I wonder how difficult it is to do?
Thanks for all the ideas! -
Wired or wireless?
