I'm looking to buy some speakers for my dv8000t.

I'm not sure what to buy really.

    My budget is around $75

I mostly want them for music, but I also do some gaming and watch dvds.
Any recommendations would be great. Thanks

If you can bump that budget up $25, you simply can't beat the Logitech Z2300s as far as perfromanc for the price.

Check out Cambridge Soundworks too. They have a few 2.1 systems for under $75.

PC Works is around $40 and is hands down better than anything for the money.

    Soundworks is around $75.

I might consider those, but I'm not sure if I like the control set up. I'm gonna have to run over to best buy and play around with it.

i recently went throughthis process my self and ended up buying the Altec Lansing MX5021.

i didnt have a test kilpsch set so im not sure but between the logitechs and altec lansing i beleieved the altec lansings were the best - relatively same price (AU$)

if u get a chance andbest buy has klpisch and logitechs...try thyem out u will be able to tell which one is better for your ears - despite the great backup for logitech(for good reason) i thought they had too much base that was not clear and punchy enough for my music and likings

also take some of your favourite tacks it helps because then u know what parts you want empahsised and not so on

    good luck!

I use Cambridge sound works 2.1 for my laptop, 5.1 Sound works for my desktop. They work awesome and they are old, I mean I have owned them for severak years and people still awe at the sound of them. They arent Klipsch promedeias that I have heard so much about but they were cheaper.
    And they ROCK.

If you can live with factory refurbished, and a 90 day warranty instead of the standard warranty, check these out.....

How about some nice high quality creative speakers? Like these:

I have always been a creative labs fan. I own a creative zen micro and some creative speakers. These speakers in the picture are: Creative I-Trigue 3400 40 W 2.1 Speakers. Creative's speakers always look great and sound excellent! I have listened to speakers like this before and the sound they put out is just amazing!

I listened to them at the local Apple store, and they blew my socks off! However, it was noise in there, with multiple speakers playing.

Let us know how you like 'em! They look sweet.

*edit* ok I fixed my problems =]

Well, I'm alittle speechless to be honest. These speakers sound amazing. Not only are they crystal clear but very very loud lol. I'm very happy with my purchase even if it costed me alittle extra. The sub isn't over the top which is nice too.

This may not have been the fault of the speakers, rather the salesman in the store, who's probably addicted to "doof" music. I bought a pair of cheap and cheerful Logitech X-230s last year and had to really wind the bass down (control on the sub housing) to get a balanced sound. For basic music and DVD watching on the cheap, I'm quite happy with them.
