I'm planning on buying an external harddrive that will last me for at least 5 years maybe (2.5 in since the other ones are too big to travel with).

I'm not sure which one I should get since I am hearing good things about both of them. If I plan on accessing this drive at least twice a week, how long would they last and which company makes a more reliable drive?

Should I go for the freeagent or the passport?

    Thanks!

Personally I am more in favour of Seagate due to its 5-yr warranty compared to WD's 2yrs. But buying your own 2.5'' hdd and then an external enclosure for it might be the cheaper way to go :)

7200rpm 3.5" might be more suitable if your not gonna move the ext. HDD around. Downfall is it needs external AC power.
