Ok i got my g5 (cheer) and now i set my mouse to 2000 dpi.

I kinda experience the same speed as my old mouse..

    Which wasnt 2000dpi.

I have latest drivers and everything

    Suggestions?

Does the cord being (wrapped up and tied by a string) influence this?

No you have to turn up sensitivity for higher speed, DPI is accuracy not speed. Speed is sensitivity.

Weights I love in the G5, I started with all 2.5g then down to 1.7 both fully loaded.

Now My perfect config is like this the 8 area has a weight

    O O
    O
    8 8
    8
    O O

    That is with 1.7 weights

From what ive read, weights are just a gimmick. A gaming mouse will either perform or not.

Maybe pros can make use of it

It really depends on the user, some bigger users prefer heavy mice due to higher muscle build. My cousin uses a G5 Fully loaded with a replaced heavy steel block in the weight cartidge. He weight lifts as his main hobby, hence heavvy muscle build, light mice end up missing their marker for him.

Heavy mice are the way to go. They just seem to feel more comfortable that way. The only problem is that the G5 is a little on the small side, though one of the larger mice I've seen. Anyone know a good mouse that's larger than that?

I remember way back when I thought the Razer Boomslang was huge. Took a look at the Collectors' Edition which was released recently and realised that it's actually quite small, too. Guess my hands were smaller in those days :p Ah, old age...

How is it a gimmick? It's not like it doesn't do anything. A gimmick is "Hyper-scrolling" or "4,000DPi". The weights actually... I don't know... add weight, which helps. I don't like light mice. I'm not a pro, but I like heavier mice.

I like heavier mice also... after using a $13 1600dpi iOne Lynx Q5 that weighed about .000001oz, my Razer Diamondback feels a lot better. For true gamers it's more than just the dpi. I will never go back to using cheap mice again.

Try to move the Arrow on your screen as Less as possible...thats DPI. i.e how precisely u can move your mouse in a given area.

Its more important for Gaming & Graphic Designing.

No it's really not heavy but compared to my old Q5 it's considerably heavier.

I used one fully loaded also, helped me in fast fps with aiming and stuff.
But I never bought one for myself, I`m old school...
