My business is graphics and photography. Having just upgraded my next Precision lappy - which stays docked most of the time - I'm considering a panel. However, it's likely I'll be dragged away kicking and screaming from my NEC FE2111.

    Among the contenders:

    Dell U2311H
    Viewsonic VP2365WB
    ASUS PA238Q
    NEC EA231WMi

I work with static images, many larger format. Gaming is not a consideration, although higher refresh rates are preferable to ease eye fatigue. Speakers, USB connections are irrelevant.

Real estate in my current desktop setup limits me to a 23” setup...24" won't fit.

Among the issues I'm still examining are leakage, available contrast, 8-bit or faux-8-bit. (Spyder3 for calibration).

I'd like to hear from those of us in the same line of work...and thanks!

My trust with Dell has been very very good. As long as you get a A01 or higher revision U2311, they should be really good post-calibration. the Viewsonic is decent but they aren't as top notch as the Dells.

ASUS are pretty new to the game so I haven't experienced one of their panels yet and NEC has been in the past one of the leading IPS makers for a while, but they are kind of not popular among the masses though weirdly.

I also suggest the LG Flatron IPS's as for the money, they are pretty good as well.

PS: I read your thread title as "pornography" instead of "photography..." lol...
