Has anyone here used the 3M Laptop Privacy Filters? http://www.secure-it.com/shop/index.php/cPath/38_41

Are they worthwhile? Simple to install? I need the one for the 17" (widescreen) I *think* (it's for a Dell Inspiron E1705) but $75 bucks is a lot of money for a piece of flimsy plastic for a screen. ;) Suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Kelly

They're so expensive. I thought about getting one but changed my mind because of the cost. I don't think they're worth it unless you're some important executive or something.

The price sucks, but I love the concept. I HATE it when people blatantly copy my notes from me in class. It's one of the reasons I prefer a matte screen. I'm a very protective person sometimes...

Why don't you just buy a notebook from the 1980's? Small viewing angle assured! :D

Privacy filters are nice if you have a business need for them. I was able to pick up a 13.3" Widescreen model from ViewGuard, http://www.buyviewguard.com. I only use it when travelling or working at Starbucks and it works well.

Yes on both counts. I love having the filter. Plus when home, you can easily remove it if you want.
