I want to make my laptop slightly more portable and sometimes that means I can't carry around my massive gaming headset and instead would rather have my mobile phone headset I use for my phone and tablet which have the combo mic/audio jacks.

My laptop has separate mic in and audio out 3.5mm jacks.

I'm looking for the revers of this cable basically Amazon.com: Sennheiser PCV 05 Combo Audio Adapter: Computers & Accessories

Razer sells one but unfortunately that's $15 and add in tax and shipping as well as I'd rather have a short Y cable the size of the one in the link as compared to the razer one that is 1m long.

I searched Amazon but reviews seem mixed on if the cable is properly aligned and such. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you!

Not sure how reliable the Razer cables are though, got a friend who just bought himself a Razer Kraken Pro and the splitter causes all kinds of audio problems when we chat over Mumble. :(
