I have 5.1 altec lansings, its the bang-for buck consumer line "VS3251": http://www.alteclansing.com/index.php?file=north_product_detail&iproduct_id=vs3251

They are much prettier in person and these babies rock the house. I'm only using 3 of them and the sub-woofer right now, and it amazes people at my place (the sound card combined with 5.1 speakers) the two rear ones would be awesome once I set it up for real.

What sound card do you have? Are you using a Desktop? Notebook? You must invest in a good sound card before purchasing 5.1 speakers or else it is a waste.

I have the Audigy 2 ZS, I cannot go back to on-board sound now :)
