If this is the wrong place I am posting this, I am sorry. I am curious about a problem I have and couldn't find an answer when trying to google it. So I joined this site to try and find the answer.

I have an old 560e thinkpad, and when I turn it on, I get a strange sound. the best way to explain it is, it sounds like a missile falling in a video game. It gets louder if i leave it on for awhile and it never starts up or even boots into floppy. I tried taking the hard drive out and putting it into another 560e, and I get the same result.

Any idea why this is happening and what I should do to stop it? I even tried going into the bios by holding the f1 while turning on the machine. Didn't work.
