    Good morning, NBR,

I'm looking for a messenger bag to carry around my laptop to school. My budget is around $50 USD, but I'm willing to pay up to $70 if there's a really good product.

I prefer canvas-type of fabric in casual or vintage style, and want to avoid anything shiny like nylon or polyester. I don't want the laptop compartment to be large since my laptop is a 13.3" thin-and-light notebook and I want to carry my notes and probably a couple of books, too. If it has a little pocket for a smartphone, that'd be also great.

I've looked into Ben Sherman messenger bag but noticed that some reviewers didn't like its poor build quality, like threads popping out within a month. Since I've been using my current bag for more than 10 years, I want my next one be as strong.

Thank you all in advance. :)

Use the Laptop Bag Finder at ebags.com for more options.

I was already using ebags.com and figured that there are too many to choose from. :D

The Laptop Bag Finder, however, doesn't seem very accurate. It lists several bags for 14" laptops not compatible with my laptop, while the laptop compartment dimensions are listed more than large enough.

By the way, is Fossil any good brand for a bag like this?

Well - the prices are somewhat north of what you mentioned, but the company does have a good rep. You might like to take a look if you're looking for something multi-year-lasting. The advantage of something like this is that it will most likely last you well beyond school. Whether that's worth anything is... well, up to you.
