Hi, I recently purchased a Dell Studio 17 (which is an amazing laptop) and I'm starting university after the summer, so I'd like to buy a backpack that can fit this laptop, along with school stuff like books, etc. Is there anything you guys can recommend to me? Thanks

EDIT: I was also looking at this: http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Carrying_Cases/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=cadhs1&sku=A0352341 and I know that Notebook Review reviewed this. I'm wondering, can it hold a lot of things or not?

Hmmm. Answering the same sort of question twice today, but in a different way.

The Studio 17 + AC adapter is a minimum of 4.1Kgs - and that's a serious weight to carry as a shoulder bag already, without the detritus of everyday life, not to mention textbooks. I really would advise a backpack.

I do wonder why students who seem to actually need mobility buys these behemoths... Indecision?

Well, my top priority was getting a laptop that would be a desktop replacement, and a 17" screen was one of the main traits that I wanted. This laptop is very light when I compare it with my brother's 16" HP, so I don't think it's much of an issue. I put it in a regular empty backpack right now and didn't notice the weight much either.

i fit my m6500 in this:

Messenger Bag Courier Collection : Products By Incase

I like it because its water proof and can double as body armor when pulled tightly against my back with my laptop in it.
rumor has it the m6500 is small for a 17 incher though and it just barely fits in the laptop compartment.
