^Title says all. I'm looking for a mice that can provide me with everyday use and for some gaming under $50. What are your recommendations?

I'm looking at this: Logitech Wireless Optical Mouse (M525) - Black : Wireless Mice - Best Buy Canada

It has good reviews and the price is really good (cheapest there is online, Logitech retails it for $49.99). However, do you think it will suffice with casual gaming?

    Thanks!

IMHO you might consider setting your sights higher with the Logitech G700, which comes with a single AA rechargeable NiMH battery. Costs about $70.

The G700 is by far the best wireless rechargeable mouse (I never use the USB cable); better than the similarly priced Performance MX. The downside to the G700 is that it goes through the battery fast.

I don't see that as a problem as NiMH batteries need to be exercised, and mice like the G700 and Performance MX are the proper vehicle for exercising AA rechargeable batteries, as you do NOT want to run them completely down like happens with use in a flashlight. Just use the mouse until it quits and then put in a fully charged NiMH battery. The battery isn't fully run down as the mouse circuitry is smart enough to not do that.

You'll also want a charger and some good NiMH batteries. This one (5 stars out of 5 stars) is my pick: Amazon.com : Sony BCG34HRE4KN Cycle Energy Quick with Refresh Charger and 4 Pre-Charged 2000 mAh AA Batteries : Camera Camcorder Battery Chargers : Electronics

Logitech M705 Marathon Mouse. It's performance is "good enough" for general purpose use. And the batteries last forever, which sidesteps the biggest weakness of any wireless mouse (short battery life).

I suggest putting Lithium AA batteries in the mouse, to give it a lighter center-balanced weight. Using standard alkaline AA batteries will make it heavier and rear balanced.

I wouldn't bother with the Logitech G700, Performance MX, or Anywhere MX. The battery life on those models are too poor to make the tradeoff worthwhile.

I have both the Logitech G700 and Performance MX which both have an AA rechargeable battery in them. The MX battery lasts longer but sucks in comparison to the far better action of the G700.

If you want a great general purpose wireless mouse, get a Logitech G700 and buy into the fact that you'll need to change the rechargeable NiMH AA battery with some frequency.

And also get a NiMH battery set which also includes a great charger, which I provided a ref to earlier.
