I am looking to replace my current Logitech K800 external keyboard in favor of something much closer to the keyboard on my 8740w. The Logitech has smaller keys and my hand feels constrained when trying to type. I am thinking of giving this a try:

I was hoping because it is HP, and the keys look similar, that it would have a similar feel to my laptop keyboard. Has anyone tried this keyboard AND can compare it to an Elitebook keyboard?
I would miss the backlighting and option for unity receiver, but I've completely stopped using the Logitech due to the feel so I need to prioritize that above all else.

I have that keyboard in a wired version for my desktop and love the fact that it feels like a notebook keys. It's basically the feel of notebook keys with a little more wiggle on the keys (no more than any other non-gaming desktop keyboard). To me, it feels the way a keyboard should feel on a notebook, but then again I've been using it since before I bought my MSI notebook. I've owned a Compaq notebook and a Sony netbook before, so the keys feel much like the Compaq's and yet nothing like the Sony's, and feel like a more refined comfortable feel than my MSI's (which I presume is a pretty standard feeling keyboard for notebooks).

Huh? Why would you want a notebook keyboard? By definition they are lesser versions of the real (desk top) thing. Just get a full-size keyboard that has the right fell you want/need. Not to mention they're a lot more sturdy.

As I said, I didn't like my K800 because the keys were noticeably smaller and more crammed together than those on my laptop. I use desktop keyboards at various places and now that I've paid more attention I've decided I like the low-travel of my laptop keys over the comparatively bulky and slow keys on a desktop keyboard. It's just my preference. So I am doing as you say, trying to find a desktop keyboard that has the right feel...which would be the feel of my laptop.

The closest I've seen judge by pictures would be the V2 version.
