I want to share this idea and hear you opinion. Would it be possible to replace the mechanical scroll with a electrical touch screen sensor, which would execute the command for scrolling? Similar to the touch pad on a notebook or Iphone, could this application be applied to the scroll? Has anyone seen the microsoft mouse that's applied as a mouse and as a presentation tool? Thanks for sharing.

I've never seen that mouse before, but that look like a pretty cool toy! I'll have to keep checking this thread.

And I see this is your first post mickel65. Welcome to the club!

It would be very possible to replace the mechanical scroll.

The question is "when". The technology is there, it's all about making it cost effective and having a successful design. If you do it wrong, you'll accidentally scroll when clicking or have other bugs.

Logitech, Mogo and Elecom have mice with touch sensitive scroll wheel. I have seen the Elecom on sale in Best Buy under their house Rocketfish brand.
