    I had to replace my HP Pavilion ZE5500 ac adapter-it came with a 90W. the guy at Circuit City said they only make 70W and it is compatible-is this correct

    It could work perfectly okay, but then again it might not. Generally, if you need to replace your AC adapter, then it is best to go with the same wattage one. I think you should look some other place and see if you can get a replacement with the same wattage.
