I just got a HP dv1000 laptop, which I willl be taking to Italy with me for the next 10 months or so. Anyone know if I can get an AC adapter from HP that will work in Europe? Or can I just get one of those universal travel-adapter kits and use that with the AC Adapter that comes with the laptop?

I'd be interested to know what has worked for some of you other traveling folks.

your ac adapter supports europe 220-240V and 60 hz....you just need a plug converter....it ranges from 19 CAD (from radio shack) and you can find it cheaper...

You can find a converter for 5 bucks

It is not necessary to get a transformer.
