It is not a gaming mouse or anything like that, but a travel mouse. My current one (a G-Cube) works great, but using a dongle means the dongle always wears out before the mouse itself.
Anyways, when I say any surface, I mean something like heavy weave fabrics, wood, bright paper and so on. It'd be nice if it didn't eat batteries like chips as well.

The Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and the Logitech V470 are both laser Bluetooth mice, but both lack the most advanced surface tolerance (Bluetrack, Dark Field, respectively). Maybe give the Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX a look as well: it uses a unifying mini-dongle that you can replace if need be without replacing the mouse, and also has Dark Field.
-
If you absolutely want the multi-surface tolerance, in a portable mouse shape, look into the Logitech Anywhere MX. It has a Darkfield imaging sensor, which lets you use the mouse on just about anything (including glass and polished granite surfaces).
It uses a Logitech Nano 2.4Ghz wireless receiver. It is not worth limiting your options to only Bluetooth mice. I have never seen a Bluetooth mouse that was superior to a 2.4Ghz wireless counterpart. -
What are the differences between these two listings?
Newegg.ca - Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX
Newegg.ca - Logitech ANYWHERE MOUSE MX Black 1 x Wheel USB Advanced 2.4 GHz wireless Laser MX
And what are my options for replacing the receiver once wear and tear inevitably get the best of it? It doesn't seem like the receiver itself is a retail option. -
If you do manage to damage the receiver to the point where it no longer works, Logitech sells it as a replacement part for about 10 bucks. -
Getting a replacement part from their own shop might be a problem for a Canadian. It looks like they only ship to Continental US.
For whatever reason, NCIX lists the mouse twice too:

ANy good names for Bluetooth mice that'll work on anything?
