I got a wireless headphone uses a usb dongle but I have limited usb ports on my laptop, half of them goes to keyboard mouse and other half to external enclosures so I want to try the below:

RH40 Sync 3 5mm Male Aux Audio Plug Jack to USB 2 0 Female Converter Cable Cord | eBay
New White 3.5mm Male AUX Audio Plug Jack to USB 2.0 Female Converter Cable Cord | eBay

would this work? this thing goes into audio jack and connect dongle via usb end. this is nice because if it works I can save space and not have a long dongle sticking out, also could work for my phone too.

the headset im using is this
Official Sony PS3 Wireless Stereo Gaming Headset | eBay

Does your system not have bluetooth? The PS3 headset will pair with most Bluetooth adapters.

Say what!? Time to get a new phone...

But I digress; You can pair your PS3 headset to your Alienware via bluetooth and skip the USBs, 3.5mms, and all other adapters.

<del>If it's the actual PS3 headset, then yes, the PS3 headset is bluetooth and it is possible to pair it with a computer.</del>

    Stand by...

EDIT: forget what I said. The headset I was looking at is very similar to the one you have, but it's infact a bluetooth model. You have the regular RF model. So no, it's not bluetooth. Your headset is just like my Sound Blaster Omega wireless. It has a USB dongle too for a transceiver. Unfortunately that 3.5mm to USB adapter won't work cause it need to transmit a decent amount of USB power to the USB transceiver in order for the wireless audio signal to make it to your headset and back. The only thing I can recommend it for you to get a flushmount USB express card like what I've got: http://www.amazon.com/ExpressCard-USB-Adapter-480Mbps-Port/dp/B0031W2MLY

That will add 2 USB ports to your system using the express card slot.

I thought of those 2 options before but basically what i'm trying to do is to have the headset work without dongle sticking out of the machine. since I am trying to save ports or basically increase ports those two would work nicely but trying to make it all 1 big package instead of carrying additional device if you know what I mean.

usb hub have power issues, and carry it externally. expresscard can go into the slot, however dongle still sticks out, and expresscard gets lose everytime I unplug dongle or other cable. I have also tried mini pcie to usb and did that internally but because of the hardware and mobo and other stuff, signal received is terrible, at most 3 meters away from computer and it stutters like crazy.
