How exactly does this work, what channels do I get? Would it just be the local channels in the area (KTTV-LA, KCBS-LA, etc), or would I also get channels such as ESPN, USA, CNN, etc?

    thanks

If you plug the card into a cable connection (like your tv) you will be able to get the exact same channels your television set gets. If you use an antenna, you will only see your local stations, again, like a regular tv.

According to aver tv's site, the nano express supports clear qam, so you should be able to get your local abc/nbc/cbs/fox hd channels through cable television because those should not be encrypted. I have heard the nano express offered with dell computers doesn't work with aver tv software and needs to be run through mediacenter, but I am not sure if this is true or not. If it is true, mediacenter does not work with clear qam, but there was suppose to be an upgrade to mediacenter with support for clear qam, but I am not sure if the update is out yet .

The Media Center TV Feature Pack was released to OEM installers only, which means it won't come to home users as a download. Such a bummer, seeing as I have an AVerTV tuner with QAM that's itching at the bit to be used to full extent in MC.

Avs forum has links to the tv pack that you can download. This forum post has many links for both x86 and x64 version of the tv pack. If you download and install, do at your own risk.

I read on one post (not on avs forum, but on another site that was discussing the tv pack) that one person was able to install the tv pack without doing a full install, but it might of been a fluke or he might not have setup mediacenter yet so that could be why the tv pack worked.
