Is it possible to connect those to your PC and use them as joysticks?

When a PSP is connected, it's recognized as a USB storage device. So in other words, no.

You want a gamepad? Buy an Xbox 360 controller.

And to add to above, dedicated control pads will have more buttons = better for gaming

I have a PSP and personally don't understand why you'd use one over a PC pad for PC gaming. Each to their own but...well you can't anyway

Actually you can - you need firmware v1.5 or below - research this in the homebrew pages. Supposedly it really works well. Its a lot of work to set up, though.

Actually there is a program that allows remote viewing and control of your desktop via the DS. It uses the stylus and touch screen of course. Actually it uses both screens. For more info on this cool program search PointyRemote on Google.
