    Start with...SOFTWARE. [ :p]

Xp is not really...Um...packed with anything that's all that usefull.
Look, you just spent a ton on this thing. Now put you money away and find out things that will make this investment usefull to you. The extra parts and gadgets will come as your requirements grow. Don't rush it.

    FREE FREE FREE!!!
    Freeware!
There are tons of software to try out there. They will become like hardware to you after awhile. And, Just as Cool and shiny.

Also: UK computer magazines are the bomb for this!! [ :D]

    Mmm...someone should list MUST have software....maybe...I could....[:0]

When I get my i9200 this Christmas I plan on getting a wireless keyboard and mouse set from Walmart. There is a pack available that includes both of them. Then, all I'd need to do would to plug in the USB things and turn it on. I dig the feel of the mouse.

I know someone who has a Logitec mouse and it feels very good. They make a wireless verion of that, so I may just get a wireless keyboad instead, depending on the price. It's got a neat button that you push and a little box pops up that lists your open applications and you click on one and it will bring it to the front. I also dig the forward and back buttons built in but the feel of it is what is truly amazing. I've never thought a mouse could be so comfortable.

I really dig the little pen drives so I payed the $49 to get a 256MB stick from Dell. I won't have a printer near by to hook up so I can use it to transfer files to another computer.

As for mobile accessories, all I would really need would be a car/air adapter. Some seem pricey and I haven't found one for the i9200 on Dell's site. The iGo seems neat and somewhat affordable.

I did get a Dell case (not the backpack) for transporting it. I didn't really want to advertise that there was a notebook in it, but I decided that I would be extra careful. It looks really nice and it is designed to hold the beast that is the i9200.

Software is always good too. I know for sure that I will never install ZoneAlarm on any computer of mine. I'm sticking with Norton. ZA has caused nothing but trouble for me. When I restart the computer it says that I need to reboot because of an error. I do and if I'm lucky it will work. It's great that it's free but if I have Norton and the Windows XP firewall I won't need to use that.

The best thing you can download for free is Firefox. I'm sure you've already downloaded it and installed it, but if you haven't then you should. It's an amazing browser. The tabbed browsing is what I really love, but there are also tons of extensions you can add. I am using the GMail Notifier. It's very handy. All I need to do is click the little mail sign and it takes me to my Gmail acount. It also has a number on it showing the number of new emails you have.

Anyway, if you want a cool accessorie, you should check out the iGO thing. A believe one of the mods here reviewed it and said it was good. I believe it has both auto/air adapters as well as wall adapters. You can also charge 2 devices at once. I don't know how much the Compaq auto/air adapter is, but the iGO is about $100.

    Some accessorie ideas...

BlueTooth GPS - Never get lost and Geocaching is fun on the weekends.

PDA - Why pull out a laptop and boot-up if you can view files from a smaller device.

PC-Card Harddrive - Extra storage and good security measure. Anything that I want kept private or that is for work and confidential I keep on the PC-Card.

Memory Card Adapter - I use the Kingston 4in1 PC-Card. Comes in handy when you need to share data with folks that use memory cards or to quickly view pictures taken on a digital camera.

Igo Juice - Can't say enough good things about it. Perfect power accessory. Charge your laptop and another device at the same time (PDA or cellphone).

USB Memory Stick - Another form of portable storage.

Wireless Mouse - Just easier to use as opposed to pointing sticks or scroll pads...IMO.

Webcam - I use it during business trips to video conference with my wife and have used it several times during video conferences that were work related.

Those are a fe wof the accessories I carry. It all comes down to what you need and what you want to accomplish.
