Does anyone have this device? I am looking into buying it, but I keep getting mixed reviews on it. I am wondering what real people think of it though, instead of sites like cnet.com. I am also wondering if it works with MCE, or if you have to use their software for the tuner.

i think it is fine but i didn't try one though
but after i mention it
everyone is almost know about
anyway....
there is some people in forum that owns those -
I have the 1400 model which does not include the tuner function.
Installation is quick and easy. The device and software are compatible with XP. When playing video games, you will not have any lag (button input) issue unlike other real (and more pricier) tv tuner but sound distortion which rarely occur (happens when you are running other apps ). My only complaint (which may be notebook only) is that every game will be defaulted to 30 FPS and sometime the game look jaagies when full screen but still playable.
The 30 FPS may be what eliminate the lag issue. I did not try the recording feature but you do have three option with different resolution and bit rate. You cannot edit/change the recording setup from the program but may be able to edit within the program folder itself.
The games I play with this device are Devil May Cry 3 SE, Metal Gear Solid 3, Resident Evil 4 (GCN), and Legend of Zelda The Twilight Princess.
I do not know what the tuner feature are but I am still able to watch cable on my notebook through the Gamebridge.
Side Note: My notebook is the E1505 - T7200, 1 GB Ram, X1400, 120 GB HDD 5400 RPM. -
i have the 1410 and its "ok". I couldn't get it to work with MCE05 so you would have to use their included software which isn't all that great either. The menu system is laggy and their isn't really any support for it on adaptec's website. The only good thing about it this it you can actually play console games with little to no lag.

I have the 1400, and its been a great treat to me. If you are finding lag, try quitting your underclocking/undervolting program like NHC or RMClock, it has compatibility issues.

I have the 1410 and I think it works just fine. I've used it for playing my N64 and there is a slightly noticeable lag, but it's the same kind that you get from connecting to a regular LCD TV which most people don't seem to notice anyway. I have mine hooked up to a regular TV antenna as well and it picks up all the regular broadcast channels. Some don't come in clearly, but I imagine cable or a better antenna would look better. It's not the kind of picture quality that you'd want to record and save forever since it's not HD, but it works well as a regular TV substitute.
Now, I've never used another tuner so I have nothing to compare it to, so... -
if you're trying to get a tv tuner to watch over the air local channels, i'd recommend getting a hdtv tuner. along with my adaptec gamebridge 1410, i also have a pinnacle hdtv usb tv tuner and i can honestly say that i get better reception on hdtv channels than analog channels. the only downside is that hdtv channels are gonna use up alot of processing power.

I have the 1400 it was only 10$ on ebay and I use it just to record video games or play on my computer monitor if a TV is not availibe.
I have been trying to find better software to use with the device and the only 2 I have read about working well are DScaler and Ulead Video Studio.
I couldnt get DScaler to work personally but I know many have and said its much better than the stock software, Ulead Video Studio works for me half way.... The capture is much much better as it can capture in Mpeg4 and things like that instead of just the Mpeg2 of the stock software, it also lets you edit any of your captured video (Im not familar with the software so not much I can do with it) but for some reason I am not getting sound, or rather the sound being recorded is my laptops microphone input instead of from the gamebridge and I have not figured out any way to change the input source.
