I am currently having acer 5738G laptop with almost died 6 cell battery.... i am planning to buy the new one... so i was searching in ebay and i found both 6 cell (4400 mAH) and 12 cell(8800 mAH) batteries are available... the cost difference is just around ~20 bucks... but size of the 12 cell is little bit bigger then the original one..
Can u ppl give me the performance differences between those two???.. like backup timing, overall life time and any other difference in functionality...
eagerly waiting to see ur ideas...![]()

We are talking about nearly double the battery lifetime! But you have the ask yourself, do you need the extra battery life at the cost of more weight/change in dimension?
If you were getting 2 hrs with a 6 cell than you may get up to 3 hrs-3:40 hrs/mins with a 12 cell. However result may vary depending on usage. -
I would highlight and underline that since there are no guarantees in the battery business. Test rarely result in twice the use from twice the cells. Not to mention you should also be very weary of purchasing battery off of ebay. It can be a big gamble.

1. Backup timing? I don't know what that is supposed to mean.
2. Lifetime same.
3. If there is a 6 cell and a comparable 12 cell of double the capacity, the 12 cell will keep your laptop powered on a little longer than twice as long as the 6 cell.
You are looking for reasons not to buy it, but there aren't any besides what you already know; it costs more, weighs more, and takes up more space. Just buy it already.
