Hi, I am very familiar with these forums, so I am not necessairly new, but this is my first post so technically I am, but that is not point of my thread so I digress.

I recently purchased an Alienware m17x R-3 (I will list the specs if necessary). It has not arrived yet and I am trying to purchase some accessories that will compliment my expensive monster so I am willing to shell out some cash but only if it is within reason, which in simplest terms "buck better match the bang". I have purchased the Logitech G700 due to the great reviews the product has recieved. Now I am looking to purchase a keyboard and external hard drive.

The most important requirement for the keyboard is that it is wireless. This is essential due to the fact that I have had bad expirences with cords in the past. I am quite the clumsy fellow and on few occassions have hurt myself and my equipment. I would also like a keyboard which functions well for a gamer/marathon typist. I for one do not know if this is possible but my knowledge on computer accessories is quite limited. I have been looking at the Logitech K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard which seems to be a comfortable keyboard for typing but I do not know how it will fair with games. Again if anyone has any reccomendations, I would graciously appreciate it.

For the External Hardrive, I am looking for a storage size of about 75 to 200 gb due to the fact that this is just a emergency back up drive just incase I run into any problems with my alienware. I am looking for an external hard drive that is reliable more so than fast, and one that is portable. I have my eye on the Toshiba Canvio Basics Portable Hard Drive 320 GB. I know the GB capacity is above the range but it is priced at 49.99 which is quite reasonable since other external hardrives with lesser capacity are sold for around the same. Any suggestions would be great.

Also if you make any suggestions, could you please be kind to put your reasoning, I am always looking for others input in order to broaden my understanding of computers.

    Thanks For Your Time

I currently use the wired version of the K800 (Logitech Illuminated Keyboard) for typing and light gaming and absolutely love the low-profile keys. :p They have a slight wobble to them but nothing noticeable when typing. I can't speak to the battery life of the K800, but my Logitech is definitely the most comfortable keyboard for long typing sessions I have ever used. The keys are very easy to find and the overall construction is solid. The illumination is a nice touch as well. Logitech products in general have always served me well. I say, go for it! :D

As for the hard drive, I would go for something with at least 500GB unless you have no music, no movies, and no games because a hard drive is something you can use for a long, long, time. Gigs are cheap these days and I predict that you will be annoyed five years down the road when your little 320GB drive runs out of space. :p

External is hands down Western Digital. They are fantastic, and ive had mine for a while and never has there been any problem with it.

As for Keyboard: id say get a logitech. All of logitechs products are well built, and last for a very long time, (i have had a g110 for a while, and never done me wrong)

Haven't looked at western digital, I will definitely give it a look right now, and yeah I am really leaning toward the logitech keyboard since I already have the mouse.
