I am looking for a wireless mouse..for all round purposes for my laptop ! Well,my budget can go upto a maximum of $50 .. And if the mouse could be suitable for gaming too,it would be a great help ! Personally,i always prefer the Logitech..my desktop has a Logitech M-SBF96 which came with it and i must say its outstanding, very durable and perfect for my needs.. I have been looking at the Logitech M505 now and find it pretty impressive..but will it be overkill to get it at that price? And iam also open to other suggestions well..Thank you !

For a gaming mouse under $50, check out the Razer DeathAdder or Logitech MX518. Both top-notch budget-friendly gaming-grade optical mice.

Thanks :) The razor deathadder exceeds my budget (around $60 ) But yeah, the Logitech MX-518 does look interesting..now,apart from gaming..considering the durability and other factors for over all performance, which would you recommend? Logitech MX518 or Logitech M505?

Are you buying from the US? You can get the G700/Performance MX for $65, no tax/shipping, but that is a bit above your budget as well.

    and?

what do you expect to buy with $50 for a wireless "decent" gaming mouse ;)? No the 518 is wired, but for gaming, the 518 and G500 (both wired) is like Logitech's milestone for their first generation of gaming mice.

the 505 is pretty average in terms of performance and price-wise its cheap, basically the anywhere mx without the darkfield sensor. 510 if you want more buttons, platform is the same as 505 just doesn't have the same soft rubber type grips on the side. 705 is the closest hands-on-feeling to the performance mx.

If I was in your shoes and couldn't cough up the extra $70 for a refurb. G700 or if you can find a refurb Mamba. I would put 510 as #1 on my list because it has more thumb buttons to use for binding in games. All around it's a pretty decent-average "Everyday mouse" and suitable for light gaming. Nothing fancy just basic.

Sorry if i wasnt that clear..but gaming would just be an added advantage for me if the mouse could help it ! And thanks,i will check out that 515 right now ! And to sum up,your opinion is that the 515 is better than the 505 which in turn is better than the mx 518,right?
P.S- I am not that much of a hard core gamer, though i do play some demanding games like Crysis and stuff..

:) understood, pretty much. I mean the 510 and 505 is basically the same thing; but the 510 you have more thumb buttons as you will see. Better than the 518? No, the 518 stands on top of both

as I see you're from india and I'm asian, we both love math.. lol

    basically (510=505) < 518

yeah I play BFBC2, knowing crysis, the 510 will definitely do for you in the wireless category. IF you can stand having a wired mouse though, 518 is where it's at. Unless if you can find a cheap G500 which is better, 518 < G500. Otherwise both are mice are decent. Nothing wrong going with the 518 for wired.

    :D Love the above post,that makes things a lot cleared ! Hi5 !
Though actually it makes my decision tough,i was hoping against hope that the 518 was wireless..*sigh* And the "Advanced 24 GHz" with the 505 and 515,which is mainly responsible for their cost,i think,is highly unneccesary for me :( And well,i seriously cant afford the G500 even a refurbished one :/
My choices seem to have run out now :/
So gotta prolly go with the 505 !
Thank you,you have been a real help !

ughh dang it, too many 5's. Didn't mean 515, meant to say the 510  crap. My bad lol. The "510" is $10 more than that 505. Again the 510 has more thumb buttons. But since you're on a budget the 505 is not bad at all. Just a basic mouse ;)

    "HIGH FIVE!" :D

Logitech m510 was $20 today at Bestbuy. Didn't buy it due to poor reviews from amazon (I checked while at the store lolz). Bought a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 6000 yesterday, and returned it due to sucky middlebutton speed and unreliable tracking.
